Growing up with strong “Cuban” influences at home, Edgar was groomed into the tropical atmosphere where Latin music touched and controlled his soul. Yearning to play an instrument at age five, Edgar’s parents gave him his first guitar.

During his teenage years he observed and studied musicians and groups like Oscar De Leon, Ruben Blades, Fania All Stars, Elvis Presley, Tito Puente and Carlos Santana. After becoming an established guitarist; Edgar switched gears and decided to transform his talents and pursue the bass. He tuned his ear to New York’s elite salsa bass players. He hone his talents and developed his craft with influences such as Sal Cuevas, Bobby Rodriguez, Carlos De Puerto, Cachao, Marcus Miller, Oscar Cartaya, and John Peoa.

Edgar is considered one of LA’s most talented bassist. To his credit Edgar has mastered countless rhythms and has played in almost every type of musical venue. In his rhythmic arsenal are Latin, funk, jazz, rock, blues, disco and even country. His skills have earned him the credit to play with musicians of the highest caliber.

He has worked on several recording projects and has played with several of LA’s finest bands, including Tierra, Willie G, Down with 3, Azteca, New Creation, Nations of Aztlan, La Sensual, Chas-Chazz, The Power.

The list of songs in his play list is countless and he is consider an asset to any band with whom he performs. Edgar has played at BB Kings, the Puente Hills HOP, Commerce Casino, Whittier Hilton, House of Blues, San Pedro Sheraton, Hawaiian Garden Casino, and has toured with Tierra all throughout the United States.
