John Colar has a beautiful versatile five-octave voice specializing in R&B and ballads. He has graced the world with his vocal chords performing in such places as Paris, Chile, Venezuela, and Mexico just to name a few.

His experience is extensive including record labels like, Casablanca Records, AVI Records, and Chisa Records (a subsidiary of Motown). In 1978 he was nominated for a Grammy in the best new disco group category.

John has worked with the best in the business including such band and individuals as Love & Kisses, Love Twins, Five Smooth Stones, Hugh Masakela, Wayne Henderson, Monk Montgomery, Joe Sample, Stylisitics, Neal Sadaka, Tina Turner, Prince, and the Village People. He has performed on such television shows as The Merv Griffin Show, American Bandstand and Midnite Special. His talents can also be heard on the original motions picture soundtrack of the movie “Thank God It’s Friday”.
